Jonathan Thompson was a major contributor to the 10-3 Whitby win over Franklin. The Bats third baseman went 4-5 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Whitby pitcher Danny Andrade earned the win, hiking his record to 2-3. Bobby Diaz suffered the loss. Today's win puts Whitby at 60-31, while Franklin falls to 54-37.

Whitby needed the clutch hitting of Adam Dykes to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bats on top, 4-2. For the game, Dykes had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Whitby manager Mike Boyd.
