A good performance from shortstop Brian Beason helped the Franklin Cubs defeat the Long Island Torpedoes, 4-3. Beason was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Cubs. The Cubs improved their record to 40-48 with the win over Long Island.

Franklin took a 4-0 lead on Beason's 10th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Jose Zapata in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Franklin to the win.

After the game, Franklin manager Kerry McElree applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
