The Terra Linda Chargers powered past the Tiverton Colonels, 8-3, at Field of the Colonels. Eric Altergott went 1 for 1 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Jeff Beavers was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jim Unknown. Adam Brittain notched his 5th save of the season.

Rich Brown had a big 3-run home run for the Chargers in the top of the second inning. With Terra Linda leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a knuckle curve from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown and swatted a home run to right. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chargers ahead, 6-0.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Tiverton manager Dave Maloney.

The Chargers lead the Northern Conference East Division by 3 games.
