The Moncton Mounties beat the Long Island Torpedoes by a score of 10-7. Moncton left fielder Danny Shafer deserved the lion's share of the credit. Shafer went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Mounties. Earning his 19th save of the year was Diego Garcia. Now 81-8, the Mounties have won 10 in a row.

The Mounties got an important contribution from designated hitter Chris Clark, who in the bottom of the third hit a 3-1 fastball to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Mounties ahead, 6-3.

"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Shafer.
