Torpedoes Need Extra Innings to Top Mounties, 3-2
Long Island turned a good effort from starter Daniel Williams into a win over the Moncton Mounties at Centerville Grounds. The final score was 3-2. Steven Rudolph picked up the win in relief. Cory Newton took the loss for Moncton. The Torpedoes sport a record of 34-53.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Long Island left fielder Mario Alvarez, facing Cory Newton, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Torpedoes the 3-2 win.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Moncton skipper Kevin Squillace, "and it cost us."
