Sanchez Excels, But Mounties Win
The Moncton Mounties and Whitby Bats lit up the scoreboard.

Whitby shortstop Tony Sanchez had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 12-8, to Moncton at Eláguila Stadia. Sanchez went 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double. Moncton reliever Joel Cogswell picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Ramiro Rodriguez was saddled with the loss.

Aaron Nelson came through with a big-time hit for Moncton. The first baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 9-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Enjoyed this one," Nelson told the Moncton Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The Northern Conference East Division-leading Mounties are 66-22.
