Abingdon Carves Out 7-3 Win
The fans at Reagor Dykes Stadium witnessed quite a game.

The Abingdon Archers defeated the Whitby Bats, 7-3, in part because of right fielder Ron Salcido. Salcido was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Archers. Abingdon reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Danny Garcia took the loss.

Salcido delivered in the clutch for Abingdon. In the bottom of the ninth, he took a first pitch fastball from Whitby pitcher Danny Garcia and parked it over the fence. The grand slam home run won it for Abingdon.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Salcido said, postgame.

The Archers now have a record of 43-44 with the win over Whitby.
