Mounties Thwart Bellflowers, 3-2

The Moncton Mounties turned back the Buffalo Bellflowers, 3-2, at Mapleton Yards. Rafael Farrand, in particular, had a fine performance. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Henry Drake, the winning pitcher, is now 3-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 3. Rich Wade earned the save, his 3rd in 3 tries.
Farrand had a timely hit for Moncton in the bottom of the seventh. With Moncton trailing 2-1, he turned a 0-2 knuckle curve into a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season, making it 3-2, Moncton.
Farrand called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The Mounties win now puts them at 43-41.
