Mounties Get Past Franklin, 4-3
|
Franklin got a valiant performance from pitcher Dan Herbert, but it wasn't enough to beat the Moncton Mounties. Moncton won the game, 4-3. Herbert threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Sean Ryan in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Mike Watts took the loss. The Mounties saw their record improve to 41-43.
Moncton went up, 4-3, on Jerry Jones's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Jones hit in the bottom of the eighth, victimized Franklin pitcher Mike Watts.
Jones attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
