Loss Tarnishes Fine Performance by Yamagishi
Though he had a stellar game, Atsuya Yamagishi could not prevent his team, the Long Island Torpedoes, from losing, 7-6, to the Terra Linda Chargers. Yamagishi slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Adam Brittain, now 1-3, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The first-place Chargers have a one-game lead in their division.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Chargers left fielder Rob Sellman hit a fastball from Matt Bogucki for a 2-run single. Just like that, Terra Linda was up, 6-5.

"I still think this team can play even better," Sellman told the Terra Linda Gazette.
