Colonels Solve Princes, 5-3

Tiverton second baseman Jack Ficca helped his team beat the Lincoln Princes, 5-3. Ficca, who is tied for 10th in the NC in stolen bases with 12, went 2 for 3 for the Colonels. Jim Unknown came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Tiverton now sits at 31-51, while Lincoln falls to 39-43.
With a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning, designated hitter Ben Kaatz delivered big for the Colonels. Tiverton was trailing 3-1 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"If it's down the middle," said Ficca, "you might as well hit it."
