Leyva Delivers Walk-Off Win for Pirates

The Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates took Terra Linda pitcher Troy Conner's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Spinners Ballpark. The final score had Saint Pierre and Miquelon getting past the Chargers, 4-3. Conner went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Saint Pierre and Miquelon reliever Chase Harriger snagged the win, upping his record to 2-1. J.D. Pirillo shouldered the loss. Saint Pierre and Miquelon raised its record to 64-14 with the win.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Saint Pierre and Miquelon. That's when Izzy Leyva, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2019 draft, hit a 3-run home run off J.D. Pirillo to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
Saint Pierre and Miquelon manager Freddy Coss was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
