Borrego Springs turned a good effort from starter Randy Lupton into a win over the Long Island Torpedoes at Centerville Grounds. The final score was 4-1. R.J. Eisen recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 3 for 3. Borrego Springs now has a record of 42-33 with the win.

The Rams got a big at-bat from catcher Unto Peurajärvi. For the game, Peurajärvi went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Borrego Springs a 1-0 lead.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Lupton.
