Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Moncton Mounties and Whitby Bats.

Adam Begue was masterful in helping the Moncton Mounties take down the Whitby Bats, 2-1. The Mounties, at 37-38, inhabit third place in the Northern Conference East Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Trevor Cunningham in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Rafael Baray to win the game for Moncton. The home crowd went nuts.

"It was bedlam at the end," Cunningham said.
