Ficca Socks 2 Home Runs in 9-0 Tiverton Win
The Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates and Tiverton Colonels delighted fans at Field of the Colonels.

Led by 21-year-old Jack Ficca, the Tiverton Colonels downed the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates, 9-0. Ficca hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for Tiverton. Jon Cordova got the win, improving to 7-4. He held the Pirates to no runs on 1 hit over 5 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2.

With Tiverton leading 6-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Ficca came up to bat against Saint Pierre and Miquelon pitcher Jay Waltman. Ficca hit a sinker to right for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Colonels on top, 9-0.

In comments to the Tiverton Herald, Ficca admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."

Tiverton has now won 3 in a row.
