Moncton Gets 7-4 Win Against Colonels
Though he had a stellar game, Micah Marotta could not prevent his team, the Tiverton Colonels, from losing, 7-4, to the Moncton Mounties. Marotta went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The winner in relief was Marcos Reyes. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-0. The Mounties boast a remarkable 67-7 record.

Danny Shafer had a big 2-run home run for the Mounties in the bottom of the third inning. With Moncton trailing 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Ryan van der Veen, who is tied for 9th in the NC with a 1.51 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 29th home run of the season, which put the Mounties on top, 3-2.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Shafer. "You've got to get results."
