Torpedoes Use Late Surge to Win
|
The Long Island Torpedoes topped the Buffalo Bellflowers, 8-4, with youngster Seth Gosselin playing a key role. Gosselin was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Torpedoes in the win. Ken Yates closed the game out for Long Island, earning his 6th save. Long Island currently is in last place in the Northern Conference East Division at 31-42.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Gosselin delivered big-time for Long Island, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Paul Ganley. The game-changing hit put the Torpedoes on top, 5-4.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Gosselin.
