Thanks in large part to left fielder Ken Gavin, the Buffalo Bellflowers beat the Whitby Bats, 8-3. Gavin went 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Jeremy Reich picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-1 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 6 innings, while yielding 3 runs. The first-place Bellflowers have won 4 straight.

Gilberto Cruzgonzalez came through with a big-time hit for Buffalo. The designated hitter smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Cruzgonzalez after the game.
