The Whitby Bats defeated the Franklin Cubs, 11-6, at Eláguila Stadia. Whitby was led by 18-year old third baseman Josh Gillespie, who hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. The winning pitcher was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Fernandez. He tossed 99 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits.

Eduardo Acosta aided the Whitby cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Bats manager David Sawyers.
