Terra Linda Drops Another One, 5-2
|
A 3-RBI performance from Ivan Fuentes, who is tied for 7th in the NC in bases on balls with 45, helped the Long Island Torpedoes beat the Terra Linda Chargers, 5-2. David Ruano earned the win to go to 4-4. He allowed 2 runs on 11 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Gabe Rubio picked up the save for Long Island, his 2nd of the year.
Fuentes contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Long Island in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Fuentes took a fastball from Willie Granados and stroked the home run to right. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Torpedoes to leap in front, 3-2.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Terra Linda manager Jaime Share.
The slumping Chargers have dropped 7 in a row.
