Suns Squelch Torpedoes Offense in Shutout Win
|
Moriarty pitcher Marco Montes did his part in helping his team defeat the Long Island Torpedoes, 3-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Montes picked up the win for Moriarty, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-0. Kevin Massey, credited with the save, is now 18 for 22 in save opportunities.
Ben Cassese had a direct impact on the outcome. Cassese contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Moriarty up, 2-0.
Moriarty manager Ron Kunkleman praised his team's "businesslike approach."
The Suns own a robust 43-25 mark.
