The Plymouth Rockers earned a win at Mapleton Yards, stopping the Moncton Mounties, 5-1. Starting pitcher Jon Gunter played a big role in his team's success. Gunter, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks.
Plymouth used a clutch at-bat from Sean Bacha to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rockers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
