The Buffalo Bellflowers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Omar Sotelo into a win. Instead, the Whitby Bats prevailed, 3-2. Sotelo threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Jesus Ochoa earned the save for Whitby, his 2nd. Whitby is now 52-12, 8½ games up in the Northern Conference West Division.

Had Jarrod LaCasse not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, LaCasse hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bats.

LaCasse attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
