Los Angeles, California native Bob Alvarez had a clutch at-bat in the top of the ninth for the Torpedoes. With Long Island trailing 8-7, he hit a 2-run double.

In postgame comments to the Long Island Herald, Alvarez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
