Big Day for Flood as Bellflowers Down Torpedoes, 9-4
The Buffalo Bellflowers took on the Long Island Torpedoes at Centerville Grounds.

The Buffalo Bellflowers topped the Long Island Torpedoes by a score of 9-4. Leading the way was left fielder Gene Flood. Flood went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Bellflowers. Chris Neff picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Diogo Pavia was tagged with the loss.

Tyler Tolbert had a big 2-run double for the Bellflowers in the top of the fifth inning. With Buffalo trailing 4-3 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 17-year old right-handed pitcher Diogo Pavia and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bellflowers ahead, 5-4.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Buffalo manager Andy Perez.

Buffalo raised its record to 38-26 with the win.
