The Buffalo Bellflowers had to overcome a big game from Long Island left fielder Armando Cuevas to leave Wegman's Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 4-2. Cuevas was 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The second-place Bellflowers have a record of 37-26.

Cesar Ornelas, who is tied for 5th in the NC in doubles with 11, took Long Island hurler Miguel Perelsa deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Bellflowers on top, 3-2. In all, Ornelas had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

After the game, Buffalo manager Andy Perez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
