Isaiah Singletary, who is tied for 9th in the NC with a 0.91 WHIP, had a strong outing for the Whitby Bats against the Moncton Mounties at Mapleton Yards. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Singletary, the winner, moves to 2-4. He threw 6.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. With the win, Whitby upped its record to 36-26.
Whitby left fielder Bill Molohon contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Bats ahead, 4-1.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Molohon told the Whitby Chronicle.
