Castillo Lifts Bats to 12-6 Triumph
The Whitby Bats stopped the Long Island Torpedoes, 12-6, at Centerville Grounds. The Bats got a big game from Omar Castillo, who went 4 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Chae-seong Whang picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Jordan Garcia suffered the loss. The Bats improved their record to 37-23 with the win over Long Island.

With Whitby leading 7-6 in the top of the seventh, Castillo batted against Long Island pitcher Jordan Garcia. Castillo hit a splitter to left-center for a run-scoring double. His 22nd double of the season put the Bats on top, 8-6.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Castillo told the Whitby Daily.
