Cubs Suffer 5-3 Road Loss
|
Buffalo picked up a win at Wegman's Field, bumping off the Franklin Cubs, 5-3. Pitcher David Hernandez was a major reason the Bellflowers emerged victorious. Buffalo reliever Steve Ray picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Jimmy Lyles was saddled with the loss. Pedro Tello earned the save for Buffalo, his 14th.
Chris Cooper helped out the Buffalo cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Cooper told the Buffalo Daily News.
The win elevated the Bellflowers to 35-22.
