Lofstrom in Cruise Control in 8-1 Win
|
Long Island had no answer for 22-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Lofstrom. The Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates starter stymied Torpedoes hitters, helping the Pirates cruise to victory, 8-1. The Pirates boast a remarkable 48-9 record.
Lofstrom was effective against the Torpedoes, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Long Island to just 1 run on 3 hits over 8.2 innings.
"Matt was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Saint Pierre and Miquelon manager Freddy Coss.
