Stevens, Torpedoes Fall to Mounties
The Moncton Mounties spoiled a good performance by Long Island right fielder Todd Stevens, bumping off Long Island, 6-4, at Mapleton Yards. Stevens hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Mounties are now 28-28.

Ramiro Canchola had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Mounties. Coming up with the bases loaded and Moncton trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.

In comments to the Moncton Citizen, Canchola admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
