Moncton used a superb performance from starting pitcher Alex Almonte to down the Buffalo Bellflowers, 5-1. Almonte yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-2. Moncton is now 30-21, Buffalo 37-14.
Moncton relied on the bat of David Williams to get the win. The shortstop ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Mounties ahead, 2-0. For the game, Williams had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Almonte. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
