The Whitby Bats snuck past the Long Island Torpedoes, 8-7, in 15 innings. Whitby catcher Brandon Coleman, in particular, had a standout performance. Ruben Espinoza came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Whitby, at 41-8, occupies first place in the Northern Conference West Division.

Whitby got a game-changing hit from Phil Stary. The right fielder blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the 15th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"This place sure got loud," said David Sawyers, the Whitby manager.
