Spirited fans greeted the Whitby Bats for their clash with the Buffalo Bellflowers.

The timely hitting of Pablo Patlan helped the Buffalo Bellflowers down the Whitby Bats, 9-2. Patlan belted 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Bellflowers. Alex Bazaldua, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0.

Early in the game, Patlan had a 2-run home run for Buffalo. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Bellflowers on top, 2-0.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Buffalo skipper Andy Perez.

The victory gives Buffalo a record of 28-22.
