Benefiting from Andy Jones's productive game, the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates downed the Moncton Mounties, 7-4. Jones went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Pirates. Diego Bucio got the win, improving to 2-4. He held the Mounties to 4 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Jim Unknown closed it out for his 1st save.

The Mounties had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Pirates going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old left fielder Mike Odendahl came to the plate. Odendahl hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 splitter from Moncton hurler Manuel Cristerna. It was Odendahl's 24th home run of the year.

"They beat us fair and square," Moncton skipper Kevin Squillace said.

The second-place Pirates hiked their record to 28-21.
