The Whitby Bats trumped the Buffalo Bellflowers, 8-6, at Eláguila Stadia. Whitby right fielder Brett Cortright was terrific. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Whitby is now 36-13.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Cortright hit a fastball from Carlos Loera for a 2-run home run. The Bats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Whitby manager David Sawyers.
