Good production from shortstop Edwin Retana helped the Julian Jammers topple the Providence Hex, 11-9. Retana hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Jammers. The Jammers, with just their 6th win in 26 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

Retana delivered in the clutch for Julian. In the bottom of the ninth, he took a 2-0 fastball from Providence pitcher Dan Maxwell and parked it over the fence. The 2-run home run won it for Julian.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Retana.
