Little Rock pitcher Brad Martin had a large part in his team subduing the Greensboro Naturals, 9-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Greensboro is 9-17 after the loss.

The Naturals had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Golden Gophers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Carlos Rodrigues came to the plate. Rodrigues hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 fastball from Greensboro hurler Damian Garriga. It was Rodrigues's 3rd home run of the year.
