Almost There: Ft. Wayne On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 3-1 Win
A strong performance from pitcher Scott Lewandowski was not enough for the Moncton Mounties, who were stopped by the visiting Ft. Wayne Earthquakes, 3-1, in Game 4 of the World Series. The Earthquakes never truly figured out the left-handed Lewandowski, who threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Still, the Earthquakes now hold a 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Francisco Mendez chipped in for Ft. Wayne, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-1.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Ft. Wayne manager Du-sung Moon.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Earthquakes Stadium in Ft. Wayne.
