The Sikeston Shamrocks went the distance and then some at Missions Grove to drag themselves back into a tie with the Montgomery Missions.

It took 10 innings to settle Game 2 of the Division Series, but Sikeston eventually took the 6-5 win despite the performance of Montgomery pitcher Jerry Carmona, who threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-7 series.

Ivan Ballesteros was 1-1 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Sikeston. With two out and the game tied in the top of the tenth inning, Ballesteros had a clutch at-bat. Facing Montgomery hurler Lee Davidson, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Shamrocks a 6-5 lead.

"We found a way to get it done," Ballesteros said.

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Shamrocks Park in Sikeston.
