Division Series Game 1 Victory for O'Donovan and Montgomery
Both pitching staffs were roughed up at Missions Grove in Game 1 of the Division Series, but Montgomery starter Jeff O'Donovan mustered enough to carry the Missions to victory over the Sikeston Shamrocks, 17-11. O'Donovan threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball in the slugfest. The Missions now lead 1-0 in the best-of-7 series.

O'Donovan, the Montgomery right-hander, went 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. He collected 8 strikeouts.

Sikeston manager William Antczak said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score in double digits, you expect to win the game."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Missions Grove in Montgomery.
