Almost There: Barrie On Cusp of CS Triumph After 3-1 Win
The Barrie Admirals moved to within one game of the World Series, downing the visiting Dollywood Partons at Stadia de Leones by a score of 3-1. Admirals right-hander Tommy Daniello had a strong outing in which he threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Admirals a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Admirals had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when shortstop Joel Mendoza hit a 2-run single. The single came off Nick Kern and made the score 3-0, Admirals. Mendoza went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We haven't stopped playing," Dollywood manager Adam Freeman said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stadia de Leones in Barrie.
