Newport News Takes Division Series
The Carson City Miners were simply overmatched by the Newport News Wranglers in the Division Series.

The end result was a sweep, as Newport News has cruised to the League Championship Series, with the final win coming at Miners Ballpark by a score of 13-12.

"We're clicking and running on all cylinders at the moment," said Fernando Zavala, who was named MVP of the Division Series. "We're a dangerous team when we play like this."

For the series, Zavala hit .421 with a .450 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Newport News Wranglers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Wichita Panthers - Santa Barbara Super Troopers series. Wichita leads the series 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
