Road Win Lifts Newport News to 3-0 Lead in DS
A sweep is in sight.

The Newport News Wranglers overcame a spirited performance by Carson City first baseman Dillon O'Neill to knock off the Miners, 10-5, at Miners Ballpark in Game 3 of the Division Series. O'Neill slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice but could not will the Miners to victory. Newport News now sits on a 3-0 advantage and has its eyes on sweeping the best-of-7 series.

In the top of the sixth, Newport News center fielder Jason Edwards had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Edwards stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 7-5, Newport News. For the game, he went 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

"Things aren't going great right now," Carson City manager Nate West said. "But you don't need me to tell you that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Miners Ballpark in Carson City.
