Riding the 2-hit performance of designated hitter Aaron Nelson, the Orono Oaks stopped the visiting Westwood Bruins, 8-1, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series. Nelson went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Oaks, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

Pete Roan, who is rated as the 15th best prospect by BNN, took Westwood hurler Jay Sikora deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Oaks on top, 3-0. In all, Roan had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

Nelson called the win "a team effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at University of Maine Stadium in Orono.
