Gadsden Blasts Desperados, Black Aces Take Game 1, 5-2
The Santa Ana Black Aces started the Division Series in style, winning on the road against the Medford Desperados at Ballpark of Medford by a score of 5-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Black Aces second baseman Bobby Gadsden excelled. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

Nate Berg dealt the Desperados a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Santa Ana leading 4-2, Berg hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single.

Gadsden attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Medford in Medford.
