Almost There: Medford On Cusp of DS Triumph After 3-2 Win
Despite a great performance by Little Rock starter Bill Thompson, the Medford Desperados defeated the Golden Gophers by the score of 3-2 at Little Rock Grounds. Thompson came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters, but he couldn't prevent the Desperados from moving one game closer to the League Championship Series. Medford now leads the Division Series 3-1.

Omar Castillo came through with a big-time hit for Medford. The first baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It was a solid team effort," said Castillo after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Little Rock Grounds in Little Rock.
