When the games really matter, the Moncton Mounties put on their best show, beating the Whitby Bats by a final score of 15-5. Joe Corcoran went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 4. Moncton now leads Whitby 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

Moncton used the timely hitting of Outa Kagawa to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mounties on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Kagawa. "I like it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Eláguila Stadia in Whitby.
