The Little Rock Golden Gophers powered past the hometown Medford Desperados, 10-5, in the opener of the Division Series at Ballpark of Medford. Little Rock designated hitter Cody Griffith was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the hosts. The Golden Gophers now lead the series 1-0.

Tom Ploutz, the Little Rock first baseman, contributed a bases-clearing triple in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 5-1, Golden Gophers. For the game, Ploutz was 1 for 5 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs.
