The Dollywood Partons started the League Championship Series in style, downing the visiting Barrie Admirals at Dolly Parton Ballpark by a score of 4-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Partons left-hander Chris Welch threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball.

In the bottom of the third, Dollywood third baseman Roberto Ramirez had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Ramirez stroked a 2-run home run to center. It made the score 2-0, Dollywood. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Ramirez. "I just want to win ballgames."
