Crystal Lake Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in CS
|
When he got to Crystal Lake, Jamari Walker was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the League Championship Series.
The 18-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Ft. Wayne Earthquakes, 5-0, in a remarkable performance at Killer Stadium. With the win, the Killers took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Walker was in the zone, shutting down Ft. Wayne hitters over 6 innings. Walker, who threw 80 pitches, allowed no runs on 2 hits. He also tallied 7 punchouts.
"Jamari looked very determined to have a good game," said Crystal Lake manager Steve Warzecha. "He was totally focused and he produced."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Killer Stadium in Biloxi.
