When he got to Whitby, Darryl Snipes was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Division Series.

The 19-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Borrego Springs Rams, 1-0, in a remarkable performance at Eláguila Stadia. With the win, the Bats took a 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 Division Series.

Snipes tossed 82 pitches over 6 innings to clinch the win for the Bats. The right-hander allowed just 5 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.

"Darryl was pounding the zone," said Whitby manager Mike Boyd.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Eláguila Stadia in Whitby.
