Despite a great performance by Borrego Springs shortstop Alberto Rivas, the Whitby Bats defeated the Rams by the score of 9-7 at Club Circle Park. Rivas went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, but he could not prevent the Bats from moving one game closer to the League Championship Series. Whitby now leads the Division Series 2-0.

Whitby used the hitting of Todd Gordon to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Bats on top, 5-0. For the game, Gordon had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"This was a nice win for us," said Gordon. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 13th , 2025 at Eláguila Stadia in Whitby.
