Miklavcic Blasts Bellflowers, Mounties Take Game 5, 14-7
The Moncton Mounties have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Buffalo Bellflowers, winning, 14-7, at Wegman's Field. Mounties designated hitter Rich Miklavcic was 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Mounties to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Division Series.

With one out in the top of the fifth, Outa Kagawa barreled up a fastball from Carlos Santiago. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Mounties in front, 8-5.

"We'll keep riding this wave," said Miklavcic.

Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday at Mapleton Yards in Moncton.
