Camero Blasts Desperados, Miners Take Game 4, 7-4
|
The Glace Bay Miners knotted up the League Championship Series at Keelhaulers Ballpark, thanks in large part to catcher Sergio Camero. Camero was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once as he overpowered the Santa Rosa Desperados, enabling Glace Bay to grab the 7-4 win and move into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Had Camero not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Camero hit a 3-run home run. The Miners never looked back after taking the 7-4 lead.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Camero. "You've got to get results."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Keelhaulers Ballpark in Santa Rosa.
